Hayley’s Hugs

Dedicated  to Hayley Barker, a truely inspirational  girl who sadly lost her ongoing battle  with Leukemia on the 2nd of October 2013. Our little girl was so strong and  managed to smile through many of the hard times, this is what made Hayley the  much loved teenager she was. Sorely missed but never ever forgotten.  Please take your  time to read the full story HERE

Dan Woods ‘Simply-Motor’ A light hearted approach to motoring

Dan is our regular Motor columnist Cars and Stuff.

His story is quite remarkable from when he first asked us if he could write a column in The Local Herald about his passion for cars. That was almost two years ago. When we agreed, he sent copies of The Local Herald to all the Motor Manufacturers explaining that his column in the magazine was delivered to over 45,000 homes every month. On the strength of that fact alone these household names are more than happy to deliver new vehicles to Dan’s home for him to test drive and write a review. It would appear that 45,000 homes seems fairly important to car manufacturers.  Nice one Dan.

Brian Garvey Aka BG

Positively Speaking

Brian is a Burnley lad who moved to Canada many years ago. He got to know about the Local Herald through his brother, who still lives in Burnley. B.G. as he is also known liked our little magazine and we also liked his writings about all things positive in his book ‘Positively Speaking’. We were delighted when Brian agreed to write a regular column for us, and we are grateful for his contribution of inspirational stuff for all our readers.

Two men looked through prison bars, one saw mud, the other saw stars.
