Welcome to The Local Herald Website
We are a free monthly magazine which we deliver, using our own team of distributors, to 43,000 homes in East Lancashire EVERY MONTH!
That’s covering 4 different communites with INDIVIDUALLY tailored magazines.
If you want to advertise with us but want to keep your target audience close to your base, our magazines enable you to have that option.
Over the last ten years we have built a reputation for being a regular, reliable and readable publication and we are humbled by our enthusiastic audience which now extends to all parts of the world. Barely a day goes by without someone phoning, writing, emailing or even calling into our offices to say how much they enjoy our “little” magazine.
We work hard to produce an entertaining magazine so that each month the current edition stays on the coffee tables until the next one arrives.
This gives our advertisers the exposure they need to get the results for their business.
After all it is our advertisers who make the magazine possible!
A major part of our magazine is to provide promotional support for local organisations, charities and fund raising events in each of our 4 communities. We have played an effective roll promoting such events as Pendle Pub Walk and Pendle Witch Walk both in aid of the amazing Pendleside Hospice. We also support East Lancs Hospice, Child Action North West, the work of several local Rotary Clubs, and many other local causes whenever space allows.
Moving to our new offices at the Chambers in Great Harwood has been a great choice for us. The old Town Hall has been transformed into quality, serviced offices and allows for our readers and advertisers to pop in for a chat or to discuss business matters.
We have undergone many changes in the development of The Local Herald but we now have a great team in place with the right people ready to expand even further in future months.
Les has the fun part of the business as the editor, researching and creating all the articles and the daft stuff. He has recently joined The Accrington Pipe Band and has taken to the drum like a duck to water.
Ann Petty continues with the accounting and HR side of the business.
Lisa Collier is our Graphic designer. She creates all of our artwork and is the key person to contact for anything regarding new artwork or changes to current artwork. If you prefer to provide your own artwork Lisa is happy to receive and proof your artwork for you ready to place in to the magazine.
Having just taken over the role of office manager Lisa also plays a key role in the business looking after the invoicing, credit control and other office admin stuff. Lisa also controls one of the most important parts of our business which is the enormous task of distribution.
The Sales Team
The key to our success is dependent on our sales team, and in a competitive market place it is of paramount importance that we work hard to get results for our advertisers.
Our aim is to develop a long-standing, trusted relationship with our clients and we now have many regular and satisfied businesses using our services.
Ryan Loftus has done a sterling job building the Accrington and Oswaldtwistle edition and has also developed the home patch in Great Harwood. Ryan has had experience in the advertising business with another magazine and his knowledge and enthusiasm has made a refreshing difference.
We would like to give Joanne a warm welcome. Joanne has joined our team and will be representing the Clitheroe & Surrounding areas. Joanne, will be working her way around the area introducing herself to everybody.
